I am David Kuhn, a 58 year old legally blind grandfather of four, who will be running 11,000 miles, the approximate distance around the perimeter states of America, in about 13 months time, which is just under a 30 mile run per day. The run has been modified from its original conception in a wonderful and exciting way that requires a stronger commitment from me, and, which highlights and makes better use of my abilities and not my disability.
I am motivated to do this run because of my granddaughter who, like over 30,000 children and young adults, has cystic fibrosis.
The run will be the hardest challenge I have ever taken on in my life, but it is nothing compared to the struggles that children with cystic fibrosis, or any of the other diseases I am running for, face in their, sometimes, shortened lives. I can choose to take a break from or stop the challenge of running around America at any time, but the children have no choice. They cannot take a break from their disease.
Ours is a “pass through” website. If you would like to donate to any one or more of the charities, click on “donation page.” Once there, you can click on the link to your favorite charity, donate directly to it and receive a tax credit for your donation. If everyone in America donated just $1, together we could raise $300,000,000.00, and make a huge difference.
The following is a list of charties we are working with:
